Raliat Owolabi holds an undergraduate
degree in Statistics from Nigeria and a diploma in Child and Youth Care from
Durham College, Ontario. She is a passionate and ambitious individual who
enjoys working with marginalized children, youth, and families. Currently, she
is a graduate student of Child and Youth Care at Ryerson University. She works
to support Black undergraduate students at The Bridge Program.
Raliat is interested in advocacy,
especially for young Black girls who have experienced childhood trauma. Raliat
is also a trained fashion designer. When she is not working, she loves to use
needles and threads to create a story as each of the dresses she makes tells a
story. She hopes to use her sewing and craft skills as a tool for healing of
trauma for young girls and women.
